
Children's Mental Health Matters! Awareness Campaign Celebration with special guests, First Lady Katie O'Malley and Mrs. Debbie Phelps (Mother of Olymipic Champian, Michael Phelps)

The great state of Maryland is thrilled to have First Lady Katie O'Malley and Debbie Phelps as supporters and advocates for children's mental health.
Children's Mental Health Matters! is a statewide public campaign to create awareness about children's mental health and the challenges that come with raising children and youth facing these challenges.
On Wednesday, May 6, the campaign celebrated as special guest Mrs. Debbie Phelps spoke out about children's mental health at the Children's Guild in Baltimore MD. The event was sponsored by Maryland Coalition of Families for Children's Mental Health, Mental Health Association of Maryland, the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygine and theMaryland Mental Health Transformation Office.
Michael Powell, a talented young artist, was recognized for his artistc abilities as creator of this years Children's Mental Health Matters! awareness poster. For his efforts, Michael received a medal and citation from the Governor's Office of Maryland.
About one hundred guests previewed for the first time new Public Service Announcement advertisments featuring the First Lady and Mrs. Phelps. The PSA's will soon air on television stations throughout the state of Maryland.
Young actors and actresses also featured in the PSA's were honored with awards from the Governor's Office and a poster by Michael Powell.

Mrs. Phelps was also honored for her heartfelt support and devoted advocacy for Children's Mental Health.
